APEX Recovery School

Welcome to the APEX Recovery School web page! APEX is designed to meet the needs of youth struggling with addiction. Our name represents the desire for students to achieve Academic & Personal EXcellence.  Our population consists of students who have been sober from alcohol and/or drugs for at least 30 days and who are committed to long-term recovery.

 APEX Goals:

  • To increase students' academic success
  • To create a strong learning community
  • To promote healthy choices that support sober living
  • To support students in an individual recovery process
  • To expose students to healthy relationships and community support systems

APEX is located within the Rochester Alternative Learning Center and is part of Rochester Public Schools. Classes are scheduled year-round to maximize credit earning potential. APEX focuses on moving students toward graduation and developing post-secondary goals while recognizing the unique needs of adolescents in recovery. The student-teacher ratio is 15-1. Our program is also staffed with a chemical health specialist who works with our students on identifying and achieving the students' recovery goals. Chemical health group time focuses on healthy recovery strategies and supporting students. Academic instructional time focuses on a variety of learning experiences which are personalized to meet the individual needs of our students. APEX students also have opportunities to grow in their personal well-being, citizenship, and community involvement.

If you have any questions or are interested in exploring enrollment for a student, please call the ALC at 328-3999 or email the APEX staff directly.
